Jessica Sokoloff of Keizer Earns Degree from George Fox University

Jessica Sokoloff of Keizer was among a group of more than 200 students who received a diploma at George Fox University's midyear commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014. Sokoloff earned a Bachelor of Arts in music degree from the Newberg, Ore.-based university.

About 150 students received bachelor's degrees after completing study in one of George Fox's 41 undergraduate majors or its adult degree programs. Another 60 students received a master's degree or a doctorate after completing study in one of the university's graduate programs or in its seminary.

Kris Kays, an alumna of the university and an associate professor of psychology at the institution, presented the commencement address. After earning a bachelor's degree in psychology from George Fox in 1987, Kays went on to earn a master's degree in clinical psychology from Western Seminary before returning to George Fox to complete a doctor of psychology degree in 1994.

George Fox University is ranked by Forbes among the top Christian universities in the country and is a Christian college classified by U.S. News & World Report as a first-tier regional university. More than 3,700 students attend classes on the university's campus in Newberg, Ore., and at teaching centers in Portland, Salem and Redmond, Ore. George Fox offers bachelor's degrees in more than 40 majors, degree-completion programs for working adults, six seminary degrees, and 11 master's and doctoral degrees.
